Peter
King is an weird and unsociable teenager with many odd hobbies. He was
forced to go on a school wilderness camp in the Wanoom Peninsula with a
14km walk to the camp site at Whalers Cove.As soon as they get to the camp site Peter is put in a group with Emily, a girl he has never talked
to, Bethany the girlie girl in the camp and Sully the school bully.
The first task they had to do was a navigation exercise in a dense
forest. They were given a sheet of instructions, a map, a GPS and a
compass. They were told that they had to find four markers in the forest.
As soon as they start the exercise Sully takes charge of the group and
takes the lead. They start taking short cuts and as soon as they know
it they are lost. Now all they have is a map, a compass, a dying GPS, a
useless sheet of instructions and each other.
My
favourite character is Peter King because at the beginning of the story
he wasn’t liked and didn’t have many friends. He developed and became
more manly and was starting to have friends near the end of the story.
At the end of the story he had become friends with all of his team mates
and had become a responsible and brave person.
I
like this book because it has lots of adventure and it has a thrilling
plot to it.I also I like it because of the way main characters
develop.
One thing I don’t like about the story is that it is predictable because I can predict what's going to happen next.
I
would recommend this book because it has an awesome plot and is
thrilling. I think the appropriate age group is 11yrs and up and I have learnt that
teamwork is easier than doing it alone.
